Alan Depencier is Chief Marketing Officer for RBC’s global Personal & Commercial Banking and Insurance businesses. In this role, Alan is responsible for all facets of marketing including brand strategy, advertising, direct marketing, digital, social media, content and agency management. Alan has 25 years of diverse experience as a marketer and entrepreneur. After starting in consumer package goods, he led the growth of a start-up venture before taking on various leadership roles within financial services at RBC on both sides of the border. During Alan’s tenure as CMO, RBC has been recognized as the Most Valuable Canadian Brand by Kantar BrandZ every year since their rankings began in 2019. Alan marries his passions for marketing, entrepreneurship and helping the next generation by serving as Chair of the Board for the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) and was a member of the Strategic Resource Development Committee for United Way Toronto for many years as well as NEXT Canada. He lives in Toronto with his wife and three children, where he has been actively involved in coaching youth hockey and soccer for many years.
